Winners are grinners!
Congratulations to our amazingly talented Property Manager, Laetitia Pearce who has taken out the award for Property Manager of the Year at the 2016 Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) Awards for Excellence in Residential Property Management.
The Gala Event for the awards, which were sponsored by Direct Connect, was held at the stunning Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Sydney. We were thrilled to attend as a team to support Laetitia and cheer loudly when her name was announced as the winner.
Laetitia was up against strong competition from outstanding Property Managers all over NSW. The other finalists for the highly coveted title of Property Manager of the Year were:
- Maria Eveleigh – Richardson & Wrench, Hurlstone Park & Marrickville
- Melissa Howard – Morton
- Michelle Lucas – LJ Hooker Freshwater
- Zac Morgan – Living Here, Double Bay
- Emma Prgomelja – Di Jones Real Estate
Laetitia was the only finalist representing a regional area.
Here’s what Laetitia had to say with her award acceptance:
“Winning this award feels so surreal. I am so passionate about what I do and I love every day at work so much that it does not feel like a ‘job’. It is my purpose. I am also a strong advocate for women building each other up. Encouraging others to reach greatness, break through personal comfort zones and shine. I want to inspire all you gorgeous women in the workforce out there that you really can do and achieve anything you want. Working in a typically male dominant industry can be hard. For me, receiving such recognition just proves this. I won’t lie; the road to success is not easy. It’s a lot of work investing in yourself and training, and believing in yourself. There are let downs and sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears. But the outcome is unbelievable. You have to set clear goals with a game plan on how to get there, write your goals down, look at them every day and strive for greatness. I truly believe that us women are changing so many industries out there and it’s so inspiring.”
Conference with a twist!
Tennille and Laetitia attended the Leading Property Managers of Australia (LPMA) Platinum getaway earlier this month, a property management leadership conference held on a luxury cruise ship – the P & O Pacific Aria!
LPMA is dedicated to keeping its members at the forefront of Australian property management practice through a comprehensive professional development program and Australia’s only specialist property management credentialing scheme.
Both ladies returned to the office excited to share details of everything they learned and show us photos of their experience onboard (including their one day sailing and snorkeling adventure around the Whitsundays). They said the content of the conference was “outstanding” and designed to help Property Managers perform their role more efficiently and effectively for the benefit of their clients. It was also a wonderful opportunity to network with other leaders and passionate Property Managers within the industry – to share ideas and insight.
Keynote speakers at the conference were:
- Chris Rolls (former CEO of Queensland’s largest property management business)
- Ben White (CEO of APMASPHERE, and Director of Ray White and Living Here)
- Todd Breen (leading international expert on Property Management outsourcing)
- Steve Fisher (real estate specialist accountant and business advisor)
- Bob Walters (leading Property Management trainer and consultant)
